This past Tuesday the Darwin Wall Team attended an Arizona Dimondback's spring training game. Although the Dimondback's may have lost, it is always a good time no matter what when the team is together!
Spring Training has been a tradition in Arizona since the early 1900s when the Chicago Cubs held their first training camp in the state. Today, 15 Major League Baseball teams call Arizona their spring home, with facilities scattered across the Phoenix metropolitan area and beyond. There's something special about Spring Training baseball in Arizona. The stadiums are smaller and more intimate, with a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. Fans can get closer to the action, watching players warm up and practice before the games. Autograph seekers line the fields, hoping to snag a signature from their favorite players. But it's not just the on-field action that draws fans to Arizona for Spring Training. The weather is a major draw as well. While much of the country is still shivering in winter's grip, Arizona is bathed in warm, sunny weather, perfect for spending an afternoon at the ballpark. Beyond the games themselves, there's plenty to do and see in Arizona during Spring Training. The Phoenix area offers a wealth of attractions, from museums and art galleries to world-class golf courses and spas. For nature lovers, there are parks and hiking trails, as well as the stunning desert landscapes that surround the city. Spring Training baseball in Arizona is a unique and special time, and it's an opportunity to connect with other fans, share in the excitement of a new season, and create memories that will last a lifetime. So if you're a baseball fan, start planning your trip to Arizona for Spring Training. Whether you're a die-hard fan or a casual observer, it's an experience you won't want to miss.
